I was burning in a fever dream where your lips were wildfire and every promise tasted like rain. We called the tremors passion, mistook the smoke for stars. My heart kept time with sirens, aching, wanting, breaking. The sheets held perfume and apologies. I reached through mirrors made of maybe—then I woke up and found only morning light, cool and honest, my pulse finally my own.
